Yesterday The boot Camp Girl team attended the Wellness Works Health and Wellness Expo for the Howard County employees in Ellicott City, MD. We gave away 1 month of boot camp to Lashae M! Congrats Lashae.
The booth next to ours had a “30 lb fat suit” for people to try on. The excess weight in the suit came around the mid-section. I decided to see what it would feel like to do Burpees in the suit. If you don’t know what a Burpee is, it starts by going down to the floor, kicking the feet back into a plank position (on hands and feet facing down), doing a push-up, coming back to standing, then jumping up (In boot camp, we also do modified versions of burpess without the jump.). There is definitely a big difference carrying 30 pounds around the mid-section!
For those of you who want to lose weight around your mid-section, I can tell you for sure that everything will feel much easier once you lose the weight! Getting up and getting down won’t feel so cumbersome (However, until you lose the weight, don’t use it as an excuse to not get up and get down during a workout routine. This will burn calories so you will burn more fat. Remember just because something doesn’t feel comfortable at first, doesn’t mean that you stop doing it.). You will be able to jump much higher too.
Use increased mobility as a motivation to put a limit to what you eat and to make better choices. Everything that you do will feel easier and your clothes will fit better.
