Research shows that a plant-based diet can help to prevent (and in some cases, reverse) many of the diseases that are common today, including Type 2 Diabetes, heart disease, autoimmune diseases, and some forms of cancer. This type of diet has also been found to help individuals achieve and maintain their ideal weight and energy levels, increase mental clarity, and improve overall well-being.

In this 5-week PCRM (Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine) Food for Life Kickstart class series, participants will learn more about the health benefits and practical aspects of transitioning to this approach to nutrition and have the opportunity to try out a plant-based diet for the duration of the classes in a supportive setting.

Each one-hour class will include a brief DVD prevention by Dr. Neal Barnard (founder of PCRM), supportive class discussion, and cooking demonstrations and sampling. Students are encouraged to attend all 5 classes for maximum benefit, as each class builds on the previous class.
