I joined The Boot Camp Girl 10 months ago after having a baby with the hopes of getting back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Before I became pregnant, I was in pretty good shape. I ran a few times a week and ate fairly well. However, once I became pregnant I used it as an excuse to indulge and eat whatever I wanted. As a result, I gained more than my doctor wanted me to. After having my daughter, some of the baby weight “fell off” but the last 15 pounds would not budge. I was determined to get back into my pre-pregnancy jeans so I called The Boot Camp Girl. After my intro class with Mary, I was hooked. I was so physically exhausted at the end of that first class I thought I would fall over, but I walked to my car with a smile on my face because I knew this program would help me reach my goal.
Since joining the class, I have accomplished more than I thought I was capable of. I have lost about 20 pounds since day one and was able to fit into my old jeans after just two months of classes. I have also shaved about 2 1/2 minutes off my one mile run time, getting it back down to what it was when I ran track in high school. I am also more toned than I have ever been in my life and am proud to say that I will be in a bikini this summer!
I have done exercise classes in the past, but this program is different. It has taught me to rethink how I workout and what I eat. I never exercised much with weights in the past and now they are a regular part of my workouts. I also took advantage of the nutritional advice this program offers and was able to move past a stubborn weight loss plateau by making healthier meal choices. No two workouts are ever the same, so I am never bored. Working out in a group setting pushes me to try harder and I love how positive and encouraging my classmates are.
