Stephanie Dignan, founder of The Boot Camp Girl, started out by teaching boot camp at a local gym. After four months, she left the financial services field and started her own business, The Boot Camp Girl, LLC. She and her staff teach boot camp in several cities: Glenwood (Woodbine area), Maryland; Laurel (Columbia area), Maryland; Clarksville, Maryland; Fulton, Maryland; Columbia, Maryland; Glenelg, Maryland; Washington, DC and Northern Virginia.
Stephanie’s teaching techniques make workouts fun, yet challenging. The workouts are different each time, so clients never get bored. She doesn’t just concentrate on exercising during the workout; she devotes time in boot camp for clients to talk about the exercise and nutritional goals they want to achieve that week. Clients also are invited to attend cooking demonstrations that help them learn to prepare nutritious food in exciting and unexpected ways.
Stephanie graduated with honors from the University of Maryland at College Park with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength Professionals Association (NSPA), a Group Exercise Instructor through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), and a Certified Body Flow Instructor through Les Mills (Body Flow incorporates yoga, Pilates, Tai-Chi and meditation.). In addition, she has her 200 hour Yoga Certification through Integral Yoga.
Stephanie has been active in fitness throughout her life. As a child she participated in gymnastics, cheerleading, swimming, and diving. She has completed several half-marathons, a triathlon and the Baltimore and Marine Corps marathons, in addition to the JFK 50 mile run.
